Cooking classes in Tuscany around the hills of Volterra

Together with two Tuscany experts from Triptoscana I organise a four-day cooking course each spring and autumn in the Tuscan village of Montecatini Val di Cecina near the Etruscan town of Volterra. A podere (farmhouse) situated beautifully on top of a hill commanding a stunning view!
The house has eight separate rooms, each with its own bathroom.
We cook in a large, cozy kitchen. Outside there is a wood-fired oven which can also be used for baking bread and pizzas.
In addition to the cooking course, which focusses exclusively on original Tuscan dishes from ingredients provided by local butchers, cheese makers and fishmongers, we offer a wonderful day programme lined up by experts Vincent and Osvaldo. It includes having lunch at several Osterias, and paying visits, depending on the season, to olive presses, a cheese making workshop (run by neighbours of Andrea Bocelli) which produces biological mozzarella and pecorino. We then walk to the Teatro del Silenzio and visit an old family-run pasta-making factory. Meanwhile our guides regale us on facts and stories about Tuscany in its medieval past. In Autumn we are going on a truffle hunt (for an additional € 25). All in all, an Italian cooking trip you will not easily forget!
Prices: € 650 (€ 675 in autumn with the truffle hunt) per cooking participant (shared room) € 120 supplement for a private room. This price includes a three-night stay, three cooking classes, lunches, breakfasts, all drinks served during lunches and on locations, and recipes. Not included are travel costs and transportation costs on site (car rentals). Transavia flies from Amsterdam and Rotterdam to Pisa, the nearest airport, less than an hour from our location. Florence and Bologna are also possible.The course starts the day of arrival at 14 pm with tea and coffee and tarte. We will visit already a local producer that afternoon. On the departure day your check out time is after breakfast at 10.30 hours in the morning.
You can book individually or as a group. Depending on the proportion of shared and individual rooms booked, your group can number up to 16 persons. In case you’d prefer to come with a group some other day, please let us know.
